Dumpster Diving  After learning about dumpster diving through one of my brothers it always intrigued me. I see it not as a way for the poor to “steal” food, but as a way to show the sheer amount of waste due to ridiculous practices in place by stores throughout the world. Anyway, this film is interesting and the food looks delicious!

Land Lady.
I’ve discovered recently upon dealing with an irrational and non-sensical Land Lady to no longer fight, but embrace the arguments and turmoil I face. Since moving from the property I have discovered it is not “acceptable” in accordance with her standards. This embrace of the “fight” puts me at risk. Risk, as it looks as if am to be deducted a somewhat large sum of...

I shot a few rolls of Super 8mm film this past summer and finally got around to getting them processed and put on DVD. I really like how it came out. I threw a song on top of it as the film is silent, otherwise, it is completely unedited.  Song: Sigur Ros - Untitled 4

Off shoot.
I’ve decided to start a new Tumblr page, in an effort to write more. It will be (hopefully) focused around discussions, opinions and debates on all things current affairs and generally just the world’s daily going ons.  You can find it here: thegenerallyspecific.tumblr.com I would appreciate recommendations in terms of people to follow, news sites, opinion sites, other blogs etc...

The New Yorker: Whose Police? →
jesuisperdu: Among the most effective chants of the O.W.S. protesters has been a simple message: “The whole world is watching.” The chant is powerful because it is true. This is the age of the smartphone and the live-feed. And so, in New York on Monday night—or rather, at one o’clock on Tuesday morning—when Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly deployed thousands of cops...

That Moment
That moment you realise you’ve, instead of writing an essay that requires the reading of 20 books and should average around 4000 words, started looking at pictures of someones cat playing in snow on facebook. (I know neither the person, nor the cat.)

Crouch End, London.
According to legend, in the 1990’s Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics invited Bob Dylan to drop in to his Crouch Hill recording studio any time he wanted to. It is said that Dylan took him up on his offer, but the taxi driver dropped him off on the adjacent Crouch End Hill. Dylan knocked on the door of the supposed home of Dave Stewart and asked for “Dave”. By coincidence, the...

'Beach Combers' - Susan Musgrave & Stephen Reid
We eventually learned that the ocean giveth, but it also taketh away. Stephen lost his pickup driving home along the beach late one afternoon when he misjudged the tide; a month later his replacement truck got stuck in soft sands. Soon after, the rest of his life got sucked into a whirlpool: He got wired on speedballs and robbed the Royal Bank on Cook St. in Victoria. A piece about the art of...
